Rebe Harrand, author books published on Amazon

Author page link on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/author/rebeh where my bio and all books are listed except Tres Vampiras and Deer Betsy.

My most recent published book on Amazon as ebook, paperback and hardcover.

Rebe wrote this book about her journey to find her own exit, to choose her own path to death. She began her journey when she received her diagnosis of myelofibrosis.

The disease has a 7-year average lifespan of 5.5 years from onset to death. She was put on the bone marrow transplant list and after 3 years without getting one she realized it was not likely. She began researching Death with Dignity choices both in the U.S. and internationally. Each state or country that allows it has different rules, and either accepts only residents or allows non-residents with restrictions. She lives in Florida which is a very restrictive state.

She is sharing all that she learned on this journey for others. As well as her poems she has written to leave for family and friends.

She served her country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. Afterwards she worked in her husband’s medical practice while doing volunteer work for 8 years as a board member of the Jane Goodall Institute. She also volunteered for Mother Teresa in India. She also provided medical aid to third world countries before retiring as a expat in Mexico for 25 years.

The ebook, paperback & hardcover are now on Amazon.

This book is about my life in Mexico after a socialist became president. I moved back to the US and found myself jumping from the fry pan into the fire of the same political and economic agenda. This is my journey about how I coped with the change.

There is a eBook, paperback & hardcover published on Amazon.

I also wrote a trilogy that I wrote with my coauthor Demetrio Aldana you can find on Amazon,
Tres Vampiras. Use his name so search with title. It is a historical fiction about vampires in Mexico using real places as a travelogue. It is my story and he is a co-author, since I am dying I have given all the rights of the book to him and it is listed only under his name now on Amazon.

On a visit to Mexico a mature American woman, Bekka, meets a mysterious silver-haired Mexican man at a nightclub in Puerto Vallarta. After an intense one-night liaison he vanishes and Bekka vows to find him again. In her search she discovers that he met two other women that night, Rebe, and Susana. The three women become very quick friends and decide to track down this mysterious man.  Bekka felt an emotional and spiritual connection to him, he belonged to her, and she wanted to be with him. She couldn't explain why she felt that way, and Rebe and Susana couldn't figure out why they felt so close to Bekka. The three ladies begin to experience strange dreams and feelings toward each other, a drawing of souls toward one another. They hatch a plot to meet him again, unknowingly throwing themselves into a new beautiful but dark world, a world that few know exists, - the complex and inflexible world of the vampire, or vampiro. Demetrio, as they discovered, was different than other vampires. He could walk in the day, and he could age. He was “A Child of the Light” - a White Vampire whose only weakness was the full moon and only protection was the beautiful pendant he wore.  Bekka had hoped to be with him, but as much as he wanted to explore that possibility, he told her the truth - his heart belonged to another, and that other had returned to Mexico. He was anxious to reunite with her and had to leave the three women in San Miguel de Allende under the protection of his faithful friend Sister Helga. The Sister would help the three discover their emerging powers and advise them about many future dangers that converged around one name, the one name that would toss their lives into a deeper dark hole - Rose.

Each is available as a ebook, paperback and hardcover on Amazon under Demetrio Aldana's books.

When Given an Avocado, Make Guacamole under the pen name Rebe Harrand is on Amazon and it is about my life living as a Single expat woman in Mexico.

Rebe Harrand began traveling to Mexico in 1981 as a tourist. She then lived in Mexico 1994 part-time and finally full-time from 1999 to 2019. She has traveled throughout Mexico by bus, plane, and car as a single woman alone. She owned homes or rented in Ajijic, San Juan Cosala, San Miguel de Allende, Ensenada, Puerto Nuevo and Rosarito. She has acquired a vast knowledge about Mexico from both living and traveling in Mexico.

In 1981 she fell asleep on top of the sacrificial alter at the Uxmal temple outside of Merida in Chichen Itza and woke to a solar flare with the words coming out of her mouth, “I am home.” She began feeling, after that first visit to Mexico, that Mexico would be her home someday.

She wrote both her books as a blog first, A Single Gringa in Mexico which was published as a book in 2012. Her second blog Mexico a Sunny Place for Shady Men was published as a book in 2014. She is constantly asked about living in Mexico since she wrote these blogs and then published them. She had many women contact her via her blogs, saying that they wanted to be just like her, and her response was always that her experiences were to share about what not to do. She also wrote a newsletter that she mailed out weekly about what there was to do in San Miguel de Allende that week. Because Part 1 and Part 2 were written as blogs, the chapters are not in chronological order and are daily reflections as she wrote each chapter. These two books were unpublished, updated and published together into this book.

She ran a concierge service, Singles of San Miguel de Allende. To help singles with their travel arrangements to visit San Miguel de Allende. Also, she planned singles events in San Miguel de Allende for local expats through both the Facebook page and website.

What more is there to say about this writer? Except that she is an open book as you will see while reading her frank assessment of her life in Mexico.

Available as a ebook, paperback or hardcover on Amazon.

I also wrote Deer Betsy which is on Amazon, it was ghost written by me for Betsy Wessinger so search with her name and title. It is a children's book about a woman who found a just born baby deer whose mother was killed in a car accident and raised it. It gave me the inspiration to write Bebe, my chihuahuas story.
